Looking back and looking forward

First of all.. I've made the mistake 3 times today that we are currently moving from 2010 to 2011. WHERE IS MY MIND!?

But anyway.. the last couple of years have been pretty shitty for me so I always look forward to a new year. Until I stopped and realized that this year wasn't all that bad. In fact, it was filled with a lot of new experiences and lessons learned. In 2011 I:

  • Got even closer with my best friends
  • Learned that it's okay to let go of people that aren't good for you
  • Learned to let go of some anger
  • Went through the process of selling a house
  • Survived my most difficult college semester to date
  • Took my first road trip and had the best time
  • Discovered my extremely strong love for Harry Potter
  • Found Team Starkid
  • Found Tumblr
  • Saw Daniel Radcliffe live on Broadway
  • Started to learn a bit about what I want my future to be
These are just to name a few. This year was pretty amazing. I've discovered so many new things and grew so much as a person.
I usually make strange New Year's Resolutions that I never follow through with, but this year they are quite simple. In 2012 and all the years to follow I want to take chances without fear. Do things for myself and to make myself happy. And enjoy every bit of life that comes my way. Don't sweat the small stuff.

In 2012 I'm also looking forward to a few big changes and adventures coming my way!

  • Moving into a new house
  • Starting to get a real handle on my college education
  • become more cultured
  • Possibly do some traveling
  • A great vacation
  • More career opportunities that I'm going to start to work on
  • Turning 20 and starting a new chapter in my life
  • And whatever else the world has in store for me in the upcoming year

So I hope everyone has a fantastic New Years Eve! I'll be spending it at my friend Andrews house with all of my best friends. This is my first new years I'll be spending without my family. Here's to growing up!
What are you guys doing tomorrow night? What are you looking forward to in the new year? What are you thankful to be letting go of? Leave a comment! :)

Until next time! Everyone BE SAFE!

Procrastination

I procrastinated so much with this post. I kept telling myself I would write in... and then never did. BUT HERE IT IS! Finally!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas/ Hanukkah!! I know I sure did! Despite family drama. The usual. It was quiet and peaceful. I got some amazing gifts from my amazing family. And let's not forget about great food! :)
What did you do for the holidays? Get any totally awesome gifts?

I started my Christmas celebration by having a Christmas party at my house! It was so much fun! As always! I love my friends so much. I never thought I'd find such amazing and true friends like these. I'm so blessed and thankful for them! I couldn't ask for better people to spend my time with!

Here's a shot of us visiting a house with incredible decorations:

My house has also been sold after just three months on the market! My mom and I are super excited about that! Once the holidays are over and everything calms down we're gonna start looking for a place! Miracles do happen, guys! I'm both excited and nervous at the same time. Have you ever moved? How did it feel? Got any tips? =/
I also found out that I passed all of my classes! Thank the lord! That was my hardest semester so far! Things are finally looking up!

I think I'll save my New Years post till Friday. Make sure you come back to read that! Until next time.. I'm glad I finally wrote this damn post! Feel free to leave and comments / questions/ suggestions below!
I'm off to watch Cinderella and clean!

Happiness and Cheer!

Christmas is rapidly approaching, which makes me uneasy, and I'm doing my best to get into the holiday season! It's been a tough year so I'm trying to look at the bigger picture when it comes to Christmas! This year is less about presents and more about the spirit!

What does that mean? It means watching your favorite Christmas movies, building Gingerbread Houses, singing all of your favorite Christmas songs and enjoying time with your family and friends.

I myself am so excited to spend the holiday break with the most amazing people I have ever met in my life. My best friends are home from college.. back from us all living separate lives.. and back to being one whole group. Just the thought of this fills me with the most amazing happiness that I'm usually without. This will be the best winter break I've ever had.

Tomorrow I will be going to a family Christmas party. More exciting Christmas events! I love holiday parties. I plan on having a lot of them when I'm older. I also have to actually do my Christmas shopping. I'm just taaaaad late. But I have great gift ideas!

I've discovered why I've been in such a rut lately. Thanks to reading Julia Albains book. Things were really put into perspective. I'll save that for another blog! Right now.. this is all about embracing Christmas as a time of happiness and love. Stop focusing on the material things!

So that is my challenge for all of you. Think about Christmas in a different way! Do things that fill you with joy!

What do you love to do around Christmas time? What are your traditions? Planning to do anything special this Christmas? Share it in the comments! I'd love to hear about it!

Until tomorrow.. have a holly, jolly night!

Finals week.

If you're a college student, you have an extreme hatred for the treacherous even that is 'Finals Week'. Actually.. even if you aren't a college student, you still have finals right? Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm completely stressing about this. I have two finals today. I have my math final at 1:30. I don't know how I'm going to do with that.. I haven't been doing that well in the class, but I've changed majors so I don't even need the class anymore. COMPLETELY stressing about it though. And I have the LCT part of my American Sign Language final. The LCT has two parts to it. The first is where you answer a bunch of random questions that a teacher will ask you, and the second is when you're broken into groups of three's and are given a topic to talk about, and you have to communicate with each other.

I'll be so much happier when today is over. It's been stressing me out for longer than a week. After today I will be almost done. I have my biology final on the 22nd. Totally not fair, right? RIGHT before Christmas. Ugh. But I'm not too worried. I'm focused on today.

To anyone that is suffering through finals week right now, I wish you the best of luck! Just remember to try and relax, don't panic too much and be prepared. Bring extra pencils, pens, scantrons.. whatever you need!
My motto is the good old, reliable: "Better safe than sorry!"

What finals are you stressing about? Are you already done with finals? When do you get home? Have any tips for anyone who's stressing?
Drop a line in the comments and share!

Until next time, my friends <3
