Inspiration Is All Around

Good afternoon, Lovely people!

I don't know about you, but this week FLEW for me. Whoa!

Two things that are constantly on my mind, 24/7, are creativity and inspiration.
This week, I've been working on keeping my creative juices flowing and summoning inspiration from all around me.

You can find inspiration ANYWHERE. You just need to keep your eyes open and let it come to you. Last night I was inspired by headlights on a car. I then went on to write a poem based off of those headlights. Crazy, huh?

I've been working on summoning inspiration from different things lately because I've been working on taking my poetry to a new depth. In the majority of the work I've written thus far, I make the point I'm trying to make very clear. Since exploring the world around me I've been starting to use a lot more symbolism and imagery in my recent poems and I've been LOVING it.

I feel as though I'm stepping up my game and getting better! Like those headlights, for instance. I was inspired to write a poem about an event opening our eyes to something we didn't see before because we were in the dark. Cool, huh?

As you all know, I've been working on figuring out what I want and who I want to be. I want to be a creative spirit. I've been working a lot on meditation. I've been going on hour long walks every morning/afternoon. Listening to music, walking, and taking in new inspiration has been quite lovely. I suggest meditation to you all! Find something you enjoy, something peaceful, and spend a little time a day doing it. It does wonders on your soul.

A few little announcements:

  1. I am extremely pleased to announce that I will be participating in this years National Novel Writing Month! This is my first year participating and I'm ecstatic. Even though I've begun working on my book already, this is a great motivational tool! Next week I will OFFICIALLY be launching The Happy Place Campaign! I will be making a special Blogspot post on Wednesday to announce once it's up and running so check back on Wednesday for that!! I'll link you to it's Twitter and Tumblr! Those can also be found in my Blogspot post from two weeks ago if you'd like to follow those now! :)
  3. Due to my crazy schedule, I forgot to post a Thursday Poem. So, today I'm giving everyone a present to apologize. To say I'm sorry, today I will be posting the poem I was going to post yesterday, PLUS A SONG. Are you excited? I am! I'm even MORE excited because this is the first piece I've ever written. This is what started me with writing. This piece is extremely sacred and personal to me. I'm incredibly pleased to share it with you all. The song and poem will be posted at 3pm est! Don't forget to check that out!
  4. Finally, I've decided to open myself up more to my amazing readers and start to share with you all. With that being said, I'm now leaving areas open for my readers to ask me any questions about my writing, what certain pieces are about, and all that jazz! Want to know why I wrote a certain poem? You can ask me in the ASK box of my poetry Tumblr OR The ASK box of my personal Tumblr. Lets connect!

Chill Out!

Man, oh, man. I was about to make a sandwich because I'm incredibly hungry, but I figured I should write this first before I get distracted again!

So hello, all!

What a lovely Friday, huh? If you're near me then you are also experiencing an incredibly rainy and cold October day. I love days like this! Except when I have to go out in them. Which I've had to/will have to do.

Shall we talk a little about stress? Let's do that!

So... I am a self-accepting worrier. I worry about almost anything that I'm unsure about. I can't help it! People laugh at me all the time because of how bent out of shape I get over things, but it's just my nature. How many of you are the same way?

I've tried many times to control my anxiety and talk myself out of it, but I can never seem to follow through. BUT, in the end, whatever it is that I was worrying about turns out fine! Almost every time.

Here's an example. I was incredibly sick yesterday and could barely do anything. I was incredibly worried because I had a History midterm this morning. I had the intention of studying for it last night, but with the state I was in, I barely retained anything. I woke up this morning feeling incredibly unprepared and anxious about taking the test. I did my best to spend what little time I had before the test studying. When I got the test... everything that I studied was there. I kicked ASS.

So there I was. In a PANIC. And I ended up doing incredibly well on the test.

Try not to sweat the small stuff! I'll try to do the same.
I've been thinking a lot about being a more positive person. Less complaining, more smiling. Less worrying, more laughing.

Let's focus on things that make us happy! Think of how AMAZING you'll feel once the scary task is finished. You'll do great!

Like, tonight. I have a Sign Language Presentation that I'm nervous about. But here, in front of you all, I'm vowing to do my best to be positive and chill out!

So do the same! Let's make this vow together!

I wish you all peace and calmness for the week.

Thank you to all who continue to read my thoughts and work. It means so much and I will never stop telling you all how gracious I am.

Happy Friday! (Make sure you watch the Halloween Marathon on ABC Family this weekend! I'm pumped!)

Much love, many hugs,

SHOW GRATITUDE! (And an awesome announcement)

Hey friends!

Hope all is well in your lives! I’ve been keeping on the busy streak (unwillingly). I’ve been doing a lot of different things lately. I’ve also been doing a lot of THINKING.

Thinking about what?

In reflecting upon my struggle with finding my one career path, I realized that there was always a common theme among my choices. Helping people was always on my mind.

Since then, as you know, I’ve realized that I will not have one said career. I plan to do many things. But what I DO know, is that when people ask me what I do for a living, I want to say: “I help people. I am of service.”

I was reading something the other day and the writer spoke about living his life like his heart. Our hearts are of service to our bodies. That is how he wishes to live his life- Of service to other people. That struck a chord with me because that is the goal I have for myself. With all of the books I plan to write, all of my poetry, blogs, passion projects, I want them to be a service to people who are finding themselves.  I want to inspire, give comfort, give hope, and give people the courage to chase their dreams. I can only hope that I am able to accomplish such things. Whether I help one person or one million, I just want to help. As well as keeping my creativity flowing forever.

With that being said… I have a pretty super cool awesome fun project that I have been secretly working on for a while. I’m ready to start sharing it (even though it’s still in its baby stage)

SO… I’m launching my own organization! Say hello to…

THE HAPPY PLACE CAMPAIGN!!!!!!! YAAAAAAY! *STADUIM CHEERS*

The Happy Place Campaign (or THPC) is a community/organization that I’ve decided to create in order to spread love and positivity!

THPC is a place for people to go to for support and advice. A place for people to go to share their stories, their struggles, their worries, their dreams. A place for people to lend a helping hand and find people who are going through similar struggles. It’s all about spreading positivity and coming together as a community to help each other find our happy place!

THPC is starting off on Tumblr! So how it will work issss…

Every day, I will post a little something, something that’s on my mind or is relatable to something I’m going through, and you all have the opportunity to comment on it and say whatever it is that you want to say! You can comment on a post OR submit anything that’s on your mind into the Ask box! From there, you can ask me to answer privately or to publish it. Therefore, you can just talk to me or you can get advice from a bunch of people! Or both! Cool, right?

Another thing, there is no anonymous option for the Ask box! Everyone is equal. We shouldn’t be afraid to share the things that are on our minds! Don’t be afraid to talk! This is also to avoid any negativity/rude comments via anon.

THIS IS A PLACE OF POSITIVITY! Let’s help each other!!

You can follow The Happy Place Campaign on Tumblr HERE: http://thehappyplacecampaign.tumblr.com/

ANNNND The Happy Place Campaign Twitter HERE: https://twitter.com/THPCampaign

I’ll be sure to Tweet every day and we can interact there too!

Yay! I’m so excited to start this awesome project with everyone.

This blog is really long, huh? Well, I have one more little thing I’d like to say.

Remember to be grateful to those who support you, love you, are there for you, and make you feel good.
Never take those people for granted. Don’t assume they know it. TELL THEM. Whether it be family, friends, teachers, mentors- let them know you are grateful. Never take them for granted.

So, I’d like to let all of YOU know that I am incredibly grateful to all of you. Whether you read my poetry, this blog, you follow me on Tumblr, or you’re new to my work. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Whether it’s five of you or five hundred, you help me reach my goals by reading my work. You give me the confidence and the support I need and with that- I am eternally grateful.

Thank you so, so, SO much for all of the support and I hope THPC does for you what I want it to.

Have a great week and remember to smile. J

Much love, many hugs,
Christina Bracco

Make Time For You!

Hi all!

This post is a day late! OOPS! I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off yesterday. I just had no time to write this. I'm sad I broke my chain!

So what's been going on with me?

A couple of awesome things regarding school:

Yesterday I applied for my Associates Degree! I'm so excited that I've made it to this point! I'm one step closer to graduating and receiving my Bachelors!
Time is flying by so fast. Wasn't I just in high school yesterday? Oh. No? That was three years ago? Okay.

I've decided to declare a minor! I am now an English major with an emphasis on Literature, minoring in Corporate Communications. Fancy, huh?
With Corporate Communications I will be focusing on business media. Which means Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media. All of that fun stuff! I'm really excited to have that under my belt! Especially since it will help me better my own business that I hope to have in a few years!

I've been so happy with the positive responses for my poetry in the past few weeks! You've really made me smile! :) Thank you all so much!
I'm slowly starting to share my more personal pieces. I'm becoming more open and comfortable sharing my work and it's thanks to you guys!

I've been working with my amazing life coach for a while now and things have really been looking up for me lately. I've never been happier! This is my year to do things I've never done before and take some chances! I encourage you all to do the same!

This was a craaaaaaaay week for me. I was so busy every day and I was feeling completely overwhelmed! Especially Thursday/Friday! I was feeling like I had no time for myself. On Thursday I decided I needed a break so I held off on the things I was worried about getting done and I relaxed and spent some time with my mom. We got something to eat, did a little shopping, and I felt so refreshed afterwards.
Sometimes you just need to step back and make some time for yourself. You'll feel ten times better!

I hope everyone enjoys their Columbus Day Weekend! My close friends are home from college for the weekend and I haven't seen them in months! We're going to a Haunted Attraction tonight. (Not looking forward to that... eeeeek!) and watching some Halloween movies! This is just what I needed after an overwhelming week!

Remember to smile and make time for yourself!
I appreciate your support and I love you all
xoxoxo
