Hiya! Long time no talk!
Hope everyone's doing good. College students are starting to go back to school. I just had to say goodbye to a couple of my friends :(
Luckily, I don't go back until the end of the month! WOO!
Tomorrow will be my first day as an usher in a Broadway theater! I'm really excited. I'll be working at RENT. Freaking awesome way to start!
I've been doing a lot of thinking about my future and what I want out of life and it's all becoming quite clear to me now. I've always had the goal of becoming a teacher for early childhood until this past semester when I started reevaluating everything. I think that I was always so focused on becoming a teacher because I would always play school when I was younger and I just always saw myself doing that.. I never really thought about it.
Then I realized that that's not really my passion in life. I've always loved entertainment. Music, singing, dancing, acting.. all of it. I've always had a creative mind that was different than everyone else. I saw things differently. That's my real passion in life. The arts. I've realized that I want to be involved in show business. That will make me extremely happy and fulfilled with life.
So my goal is to become a casting director. I'll be interning at some theaters and at casting agencies in the next year and I'm so excited to grow with this process. I will also eventually get into acting, but I want to focus on something to be my backup plan if that never works out. My main goal is to do casting for Broadway, but film and TV will work just fine for me.
I think it's important for people to really think about where they want to be in life and what they want to do. I always say to myself that I don't want to wake up twenty years later feeling unfulfilled and with regrets about what I did with my life. Whatever your true passion is.. you can make it happen.
So that's just some advice I have for all of you. Do what makes you most happy in life. Not what others want you to do or what you think is easiest or will make you the most money. Do what you love. Simple as that.
And even if you're not sure yet.. don't sweat it. You don't have to figure it out right away. Life's not that easy!
You've got plenty of time to figure it out.
So whatever it is that you want out of life.. I hope you achieve it! Believe in yourself and know that I believe in you too.
Feel free to leave any questions/ comments/ suggestions in the 'Comments' box or in my Tumblr ask box!
Have a great rest of the week! I'll let you know how RENT goes!
Xoxoxo Christina
